Taisho – The Hottest Period in Japan 23.July.2011

Hoy, el día 23 de julio es Taisho (大暑), uno de los 24 términos solares que utilizan todavía en Asia y dicen que es el period más calor del año. En Japón es común mandarles a los posteres estacionales a los amigos, las familias, los clientes y los compañeros en este periodo, simplemente para preguntar si están manejando bien el calor. A mi parece hacer eso es muy sensible y me gustaba recibir estas postares durante de las vacaciones.

 

 

Today, the 23rd of July is Taisho (大暑), one of the 24 solar term that is still used in Asian and is said to be the hottest period in a year. In Japan it´s common to send seasonal greeting cards to friends, families, clients and collegues in this period, just to care about how they are coping with the heat. I think it´s quite sensible things to do and I used to like receiving the cards.

La noche de performance – Chocolate Calligraphy 13.July.2011

La noche del sábado en un rincón de Madrid, hubo un visual art/gastronómico donde fui invitada para hacer un performance de caligrafía. Única diferencia es en vez de escribir en papel, escribí en los platos liñeados y, en vez de poner mi pincel en la tinta, mojaba en la olla llena de chocolate…

Escribí un haiku del verano, justo antes del postre, por supuesto el resto de chocolate desapareció al dentro de nuestro estomago.

Un día de verano, El niño lame la cucharilla, Y disfruta del cono de nieve.

The night of Saturday, in the corner of Madrid, there was a visual art/gastronomic dinner where I was invited to do a little calligraphy performance. Only the difference is instead of writing on the paper, I had to write on the plates, then instead of using black ink, I held a little pot full of chocolate…

I wrote a haiku in the summer just before the desert and needless to say, the rest of the chocolate disappeared into our tummy, hmm.
