Demonstration Live in Calvario 15.June.2010

The exhibition “Haiku in Summer” will continue in the bar Calvario until the 7th of July. The opening will be this Thursday and I’m doing a little demonstration on live at the same night. There will be also sake tasting. Come around!

La exposición “Haiku en verano” continuará en el bar Calvario hasta el día 7 de julio. Inauguramos este jueves, el día 17 de junio y voy a hacer una pequeña demostración en vivo la misma noche. También habrá la cata de sake. Ven!

Presentation- el Libro de Té 9.June.2010

A book about tea ceremony will be presented on the 11th of June in Madrid. This book is originally written in Japanese by Kakuzo Okakura and translated by Spanish translator,Pablo Sorozábal, published by Ediciones el Taller del Libro. They have done many of beautiful books and all the books are numbered.  I have done the titles of the book in calligraphy as a collaborator. We will have a little chat about tea ceremony, traditional book binding and calligraphy, then wine time! Hope to see you there.

Demonstration with Shakuhachi 8.June.2010

This Saturday on the 12th of June, Shakuhachi player, Antonio Olías and I have another demonstration for the 40’s anniversary of the Karate master, Yamashita. We will play Tsuru no Sugomori. Este sábado, el día 12 de junio, Shakuhachi flautista, Antonio Olías y yo hacemos otra demostración para la celebración del homenaje al maestro de Karate, Yamashita. Tocamos Tsuru no Sugomori. Workshop-origami 13.May.2010

It’s nothing to do with calligraphy but this Friday, the 14th of May, I’m opening a workshop of origami. There you can learn how to make crane (tsuru), warrior’s helmet (kabuto), basket and camera. You’ll realize how much possibility a paper has, that you can make any animals, tools or anything you like. More information, look below.

No tiene nada que ver con la caligrafía pero este viernes, el día 14 de mayo, hago un taller de origami. Ahí puedes aprender cómo hacer la grulla (tsuru), el casco de guerrero (kabuto), la cesta y la camara. Te darás la cuenta cuanto posibilidades tiene un papel, que puedes crear cualquier animales, instrumentos o cosas que te gusten. Más información, mira abajo.

Hello everyone. Here is the announcement of my second mini-exhibition.

The theme is “Haiku in summer”, all haikus are read about the beauty (or pain) of Japanese summer.

workshop (taller) 8.April.2010

Hello,  I’m please to announce that we have a little calligraphy workshop. Now the weather is nicer and a day is longer, and I’m sure you have an itch to wonder the streets. So  here, I have a proposal. This is an one-day workshop who cannot be committed in any longer term classes but how about a little one? Hola, con mucho gusto de anunciar nuestro taller de caligrafía. Ahora el tiempo es bonito y el día más largo, que estoy seguro que os apetece salir a la calle. Bueno entonces, tenemos una propuesta aquí. Esto es un taller de sólo un día para quién que no puede prometer con los cursos, pero ¿por qué no un taller pequeño? workshop with kids 5.March.2010

This weekend on the 7th of March there is a championship of Karate for children in Ciudad Real in Castilla La Mancha.

The workshop will be held the day before on the 6th at 12:00H where they will experience of writing their own name in Katakana, one of the Japanese alphabets with the blush and the ink. If you are near the area, please join us. The program is blow the page.

Este fin de semana el día 7 hay campeonato de Karate infantil en Ciudad Real en Castilla La Mancha.

El día anterior, el día 6 a las 12.00H tenemos un taller para los niños que intentamos escribir sus nombres en Katakana; uno de los alfabetos de japonés con un pincel y la tinta. Si estaréis en la zona, acercaos!

Theme: Haiku in spring

In the Haiku world, a year is divided into four seasons. Spring- January, February, March ; Summer- April, May, June  ; Autumn- July, August, September; Winter- October, November, December

New year, new season, I like to present the shortest but the most expressive poem, Haiku on the theme of spring.

Tema: Haiku en primavera

En el mundo haiku, un año está dividido en cuatro estaciones: primavera- enero, febrero, marzo; verano- abril, mayo, junio; otoño- julio, agosto, septiembre; invierno- octubre, noviembre, diciembre.

En el año nuevo, la nueva estación, me gustaría presentar la más corta pero más expresiva poesía Haiku con el tema de la primavera.

Mochitsuki Taikai in Madrid

There will be “Mochitsuki Taikai” held this Sunday, the 17th of January 2010 in a suburb of Madrid.

Mochi is made of rice after being beaten up hundreds times with a wooden mallet and becomes paste.

You can eat salty with soy sauce or with sweet bean paste. This is one of the typical food for new year

in Japan. I like it with soy sauce wrapped with seeweed, hmmm.

There will be as many Spanish visitors as Japanese. So if you like to spend a bit different Sunday,

come and experiment a new taste.

Some of my works will be exhibited, too.
